Kavita Wankhade

Lead – Practice

Education:
MSc (City Design and Social Science), London School of Economics; BArch, School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi
Kavita has worked on a wide range of areas, including environmental services, sustainability and climate change, urban form, and urban governance. While working primarily in the private sector with a range of institutions including the Water and Sanitation Program of the World Bank, the Rockefeller Foundation, the UK Department for International Development, UNDP and IDFC, her work has involved engagement with various state governments in India. She is currently involved in two projects, one that examines the drivers of urban form, and another assessing sustainability of JNNURM.
Kavita works at the intersection of natural and built environment and the socio-economic systems. Her recent work focuses on issues of urban sustainability, particularly in infrastructure systems, and urban form.

KV Santhosh Ragavan

Santhosh Ragavan has experience and interests in integrated management for sustainable development focusing on water, wastewater, waste, sanitation, air pollution, health and energy. He has developed and implemented waste treatment systems for municipal, industrial, and agricultural waste. Santhosh has worked on water & sanitation, indoor air pollution and health, ambient air pollution and health, energy & water demand-side management in agricultural sector and environmental assessment industries. Santhosh has Masters’ degree in Environmental Health.

DineshKumar Pandey

Dinesh is an M.B.A in Marketing Management from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. He was
associated with PSI (Population Services International) for 13 years, his core areas of work include the
social marketing of products and services. He was instrumental for setting up the sales and distribution
system in Andhra Pradesh under AVAHAN and NACO CSM programs. Since June 2014 he was with PSI’s
WASH programs in Bihar, responsible for FSM program and Handwash programs. His key
accomplishments in Bihar includes setting up the decentralized sewage treatment plant, piloting the
business model for operating the Portable toilet cabins and running the Fecal Sludge Treatment Plant
through a partner, Piloting the Bundled Solution (Toilet construction + Pit emptying service) and the
most important is creating access to the private tanker operators at the government STPs.
At IIHS, he will be part of Enterprise Development Team for TNUSSP project.
He is interested in exploring new places, watching movies and cooking in free time.

Senior Specialist – Knowledge Management, Project Communications, Behaviour Change & Communications

A development journalist by training, Asma has worked for a several national newspapers across various cities, before moving into the development sector in the last decade. The major portion of her work in the development sector has been in the area of HIV/AIDS management. As a freelance media trainer she has worked with marginalized groups like sex workers, transgenders, LGBT communities and migrant workers etc.Setting up an edition of a newspaper in a small town from scratch and making it work has been a high point of her career as a journalist. “We not only made our presence felt, but within one year were being counted as a major newspaper in the region,” she says.
At IIHS, she will be part of the Knowledge Management, Behaviour Change and Communication and Project Communication team for TNUSSP project.
Her interests include reading and writing. The kindle is her constant companion.

Specialised in Training & Development in her Masters, Molly has worked extensively in the learning field in different capacities, handling learning for Freshers to the Leadership group.
In her years of work she has developed and rolled out programs, policies and tracking systems in the learning. She comes with specialization in project management, Learning & Evaluation.A typical Chennaitian….loves to have filter coffee and masala dosa anytime in the day…. though not an ardent movie goer… still likes to watch Rajani’s fight….

Ganesh is a professional social worker, possesses Master of Philosophy in Social work and Bachelors in Education. He has experience in working on various projects with various government departments at the state and national level. He has designed and implemented thematic communication campaigns in the field of poverty reduction, micro finance, disability, health and sanitation. His previous assignment was with the World Bank supported rural development project in Tamil Nadu.
At IIHS, he will be part of the Behaviour Change and Communication team for TNUSSP project.
He is interested in travelling, interacting with different types of people/Communities and gaining knowledge from them.

Navamani Ramasamy

NavamaniRamasamy is an urban planner and GIS specialist with five and half years of professional career in urban planning, traffic & transportation planning and RS & GIS. He has experience in optimizing the public bus routes, schedules and fare stages, planning and analysing trunk & feeder services, gave training on GPS and various ground surveys, IT solution in planning and scheduling the bus & crew for easy traffic operation management. Also he has experience GIS application in city planning, regional planning, environmental planning, urban utility and infrastructure planning. He is expert in maintaining engineering precision in Georeferencing, digital image processing, Geospatial database creation, QA /QC for Geo-data, numerous Geospatial analysis like environmental proximity study, Water intake pipe line alignment study, Coal transportation study (OLC and MGR Alignment), Area Grading for plot plan (Cut / Fill Analysis), Network analysis, Asset management, Hydrology studies – Flood risk zone mapping, Watershed identification and check dam mapping, underground water table mapping and Site suitability analysis and 2D profile generation & 3D modeling. Also he has experience in capacity building and conducting extensive public consultation and stakeholder participation meetings in Chennai.
At IIHS, Navamani is working as specialist – Engineering and Planning for TNUSSP. His expertise lies in Geospatial Information System.

Chithra is a competent management professional with six years’ experience in learning and development. She has completed Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Asian school of Business, Trivandrum in 2009.She was a faculty member at Tata Consultancy services, Global training center at Trivandrum. She is in her final lap of PhD in Management. Her key interest area is skill development.
She has developed an employability skill assessment tool for engineering graduates in India. She is the first Indian scholar to receive IFTDO award for “Certificate of Merit in Research Excellence in Training” for her work in engineering skill development. She is keen on working with skill development programs in India especially with higher educational institutions.
Her interests include travelling, writing poems and cooking.

Sam Daniel is a social work professional with four years of experience in research and project management. After graduation, he worked first as field supervisor and later as a Research officer at Christian Medical College, Vellore.
He has worked to develop partnerships with Government and NGOs. He has also worked as project co-ordinator with The Leprosy Mission Trust India.
At IIHS, he will be working with the TNUSSP team.
Apart from work he is interested in gardening.

Robin is a development professional, possesses Masters in Development Studies, and Bachelors in Computer Engineering. He has overall work experience of five years in NGOs, Government, Corporate, and Academic institutions. His professional affiliation includes association with National Centre for Sustainable Coastal Management (NCSCM), Chennai. His previous assignment was with MICA, Ahmedabad.
At IIHS, he will be part of the Knowledge Management team for TNUSSP Project.
Apart from work, he enjoys playing sports (badminton, cricket, kabbadi), fishing, swimming, and photography.

Prior to IIHS, Srinithi has worked as a planner in the Environmental and Social Division of CDM Smith India Private Limited. Her work involved preparation of Social Impact Assessment studies and Feasibility Reports for Government Infrastructure Development Projects. She has also travelled to various project sites to study the Socio-Economic impacts on Development induced displaced people and prepared necessary Resettlement Action Plans.
At IIHS, she will be working as a Specialist in Governance and Enabling Framework component for the TNUSSP Team Chennai.
Her hobbies include watching movies and listening to music.

Rukmani has over 10 + years of experience in Administrative Services, Customer Relationship Management, Project Management within the Service industry, worked across various portfolios ranging from Client and vendor management, Property & Facilities Management and Maintenance, General & Front Office Management to Board of Directors facilitation functions.
Rukmani graduated from the Delhi University with a Bachelor of Commerce. She has undergone training in Six Sigma and Project Management which allows her to look at reducing cost or expenses methodically, without impacting the service levels and coordinating office management and special projects with a high degree of efficiency.

At IIHS, Bosco is part of the Finance & Accounts team. Bosco has been extensively involved in documented system of accounting policies and procedures, operations of the treasury department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives. During his Master’s, he has been awarded as ‘Best Volunteer in Youth Red Cross’ and ‘Best Coordinator in Cultural Department’
His interest and hobbies include surfing net, meeting people and participating in social activities.

Krishnapriyaa.P

Krishnapriyaa started her career at Air Maldives as Front Office Executive, and as Personal Secretary to
the President of ITI Financial Services. She has had vast experience in Gods Will Enterprise.
In IIHS, she supports the admin team with travel arrangements, preparing itineraries and taking care of other logistical arrangements and requirements.
She also provides the back-up support to the admin department in a variety of tasks including co-ordinating events. Her job also includes preparing weekly reports.

Govardhan S

Office Assistant

Education: ITI in pattern maker

Govardhan started his career as an apprentice at Rane NSK and moved on to work as a maintenance and operation officer at DLF’s power plant. Fondly known as Giri in the office, he is accountable for day to day admin operations work & occasionally involved in generating business reports. Giri also oversees daily logistics that involves the team’s transportation, food, etc. and acts as a facilitator for various teams within the project.

His hobbies are painting and spending time with pets.
